How do I find people for a language exchange?

MyIntercambio makes it easy for you to find partners for a language exchange. You can:

1. Browse members on a map
   People are color-coded by their native language (red for Spanish and blue for English), making it easy for you to see who might be a good match at a glance.


2. Search members based on criteria you select
   You can get very specific matches by filtering members by country, native language, level of learning language, age, gender, type of language exchange (online or face-to-face) and more.

Once you've found people you're interested in doing a language exchange with, add them as friends or explore their profiles to learn more about them.

Great! So how do I start the language exchange?

Just send a message to your new friends and set up a suitable time and place for you to meet. If your meeting is online, you can use our built-in instant messenger for text chat or freely available tools such as Skype or Google Talk for voice/video chat.

You can also post your language exchange requests as a listing and receive inquiries from other members.

What else can I do on MyIntercambio to improve my language learning?

Maintaining a conversation in a foreign language can be daunting, even for people at advanced levels, so we've given our members blogging and video tools to practice grammar, spelling, pronunciation and accent at their own pace.

Other members can correct your blog line-by-line so you can see your grammar and spelling mistakes clearly. When you upload a video of yourself speaking in the language you're learning, MyIntercambio members can respond with their own video or audio comments so that you can actually hear the correct pronunciation and accent!
